Travel chaos after person hit by train

A person has been hit by a train between Liverpool Street Station and Cheshunt Station this morning (Wednesday, March 13). Commuters an expect cancellations and delays of up to 30 minutes, say National Rail.

Disruption can be expected on Greater Anglia, London Overground and Stansted Express trains until 11am this morning while emergency services deal with the incident.

A status alert by Greater Anglia posted to X reads: "We regret to inform you that our West Anglia services are severely disrupted due a person hit by a train between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt. As a result, service disruption is expected on all routes until lines reopen. Some trains may be diverted via Seven Sisters."
