'Serious accident' on M25 causing long delays for miles

Drivers are being warned to expect long delays on the M25 around Kent this morning (Wednesday, March 12) as a 'serious accident' is causing congestion for miles.

Traffic is building on the M25 clockwise at Junction 3 (for the Swanley Interchange) with queues as far back as Junction 30 (for A13 Lakeside), back over the QE2 Bridge. Online traffic and travel reporting service Inrix is stating there has been a 'serious accident' in the area.

The exit slip road to the M20 coastbound is partially blocked and there are reportedly long delays as a result. The latest is that the fast slip is closed, but the second exit onto the roundabout is unaffected and it is taking drivers 35 minutes to get through this area.

In a separate incident, also travelling clockwise, there have been two miles of queues near Cobham Services following an earlier crash. Traffic is now easing in this area.
