Manhunt after woman sexually assaulted at Tube station ticket barriers

Police have launched an appeal after a woman was sexually assaulted in a London Underground station. At about 6.30pm on Friday, January 31 it is alleged that the young woman was approached from behind and attacked at the ticket barriers.

British Transport Police have released a mobile phone image of a man officers want to speak to. Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact the force or call Crimestoppers anonymously.

A spokesperson said: "Do you recognise this man? Detectives investigating a sexual assault at Arnos Grove Underground Station are today releasing this image in connection.

"Shortly before 6.30pm on Friday 31 January a young woman was using the ticket barriers when she was approached by a man from behind who sexually assaulted her. Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help their investigation.

"Anyone who recognises him or has any other information, is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 587 of 31 January. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
