A man and woman have been found dead inside a house in South East London. Concerns were raised about the pair in Thamesmead shortly before 3pm on Tuesday, March 11.
They were discovered 'seriously injured' after emergency services forced entry to the home on Holstein Way. They were pronounced dead at the scene and their next of kin are now being supported by specialist officers.
It is believed the man and woman were known to each other. Police have not yet released their names.
The Metropolitan Police are investigating their deaths as unexpected and unexplained but are not looking for anyone in connection.
'A crime scene will remain in place until we have conducted our enquiries'
Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, who leads policing in Bexley, said: “I know many residents in the local area will be questioning why police are carrying out enquiries within Holstein Way.
"We are currently investigating the death of two people, which was unexpected and unexplained. At this early stage, we are working with officers and local authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
"We believe that the two were known to each other, and at this time we are not seeking to speak with anyone else in connection with this. A crime scene will remain in place until we have conducted our enquiries. Thank you to those in the local area for their patience.”
