Kyle Clifford will spend the rest of his life in prison after murdering three women in a burst of violence fuelled by misogyny and jealousy. The failed soldier, also described as racist and transphobic, had been searching for self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate's podcast the day before killing his ex-girlfriend Louise Hunt, her sister Hannah, and mum Carol.
Prosecutors said Clifford's decision to “turn to” one of the controversial social media influencer’s podcasts the night before the murders showed he was fuelled by Tate’s “violent misogyny”.
Sentencing judge Mr Justice Bennathan told the court Clifford is a “jealous man soaked in self pity, who holds women in utter contempt”.
But Clifford, who is from Enfield in North London, is not alone when it comes to hateful men who have gone beyond words to inflict harm on women. London has a long history of killers with total disregard for women, including Rippers who have targeted and mutilated sex workers, serial killers who have picked women off the street, and even a policeman whose crime led to a public reckoning - albeit one that failed to save the Hunts from Clifford's evil.
