Two women have been arrested after Muslim worshippers claim they had their belongings stolen during Ramadan prayers. Police were called to London Central Mosque shortly before 6.30pm yesterday (Friday, March 7) to reports of theft at the site in Park Road.

The two women - aged 42 and 19 - were arrested at the scene. Police say multiple worshippers reported being robbed.

Robleh Adam, who was at the mosque near Regent's Park, told MyLondon that once Ramadan prayers started, some people dressed in traditional Islamic clothing entered the building and were allegedly spotted stealing. He added that an Uber driver was able to alert worshippers and contact police.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at approximately 6.29pm yesterday evening to a report of theft at London Central Mosque.

"Two women, aged 42 and 19, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of theft from multiple victims."
