'Large amount' of cash stolen in high street armed robbery

An armed robbery on a West London high street saw a "large amount" of cash stolen. A person has been arrested and charged on suspicion of robbery, impersonating a police officer and other offences.

Officers were called to reports of an armed robbery at a shop on High Street, West Drayton, yesterday morning (Monday, March 10). A man was arrested at the scene and a "large amount" of cash was recovered.

He has been charged on suspicion of robbery, impersonating a police officer, possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court.

A spokesperson for Hillingdon MPS posted to X: "Yesterday morning, officers responded swiftly to reports of an armed robbery at a shop on High Street, West Drayton. Emergency response teams arrested a man at the scene, recovering a large amount of stolen cash.

"Following an investigation, the suspect has now been charged with multiple offences including robbery, impersonating a police officer, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court.

"We remain committed to tackling violent crime in Hillingdon. If you have any information about crime in your area, please report is via 101 or anonymously via @CrimestoppersUK."
