Police have taken action to reassure members of the public in Enfield after a man was stabbed in broad daylight. Met Police officers were alerted to a knife attack on Lawson Road at 4.37pm yesterday (Sunday, March 9).
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment and police have received an update to confirm he is in a non-life threatening condition. A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Mike Herrick, of North Area Local Investigations who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a horrific attack in broad daylight, which we know has shocked the local community in Enfield. Officers were quickly on the scene and were able to immediately arrest a man who remains in custody.
“Residents and visitors to the area will have noticed an increased police presence while this investigation remains ongoing. I would encourage anyone within the community who has any concerns to speak to our officers who will be in the area over the coming days.
“I encourage anyone who has information but may not have contacted police yet to get in touch and assist with this investigation.”
