Homes evacuated as experts dispose of 'wartime bomb'

Dartford residents have been evacuated from their homes following the arrival of a bomb disposal team in the area.

Police said that the team was sent to Kirby Road in Dartford after suspected 'wartime ordnance' was found on the road.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was contacted at 9.18am on Thursday, March 13 2025, following the discovery of suspected wartime ordnance in Kirby Road, Dartford."

They added: "Officers are at the scene where a cordon is in place and nearby residents have been evacuated. A Ministry of Defence bomb disposal team are also in attendance."
