The Blackwall Tunnel is currently closed in a southbound direction due to a crash earlier this morning (March 10). Police have confirmed a lorry collided with part of the tunnel at around 8.50am.
No one was injured during the incident but the road will remain shut for some time. Drivers are being severely delayed, with congestion tailing back to Hackney Wick along the A12 and to Beckton on the A13.
Long queues have also been reported for the northbound exit on to the A13. There is heavy traffic building around the Rotherhithe Tunnel and Tower Bridge as a result.
The 108 and 115 bus routes are being diverted. London Underground is accepting bus tickets in Zones 2, 3 and 4.
